Newly Completed! Cody "Bug" This is a memorial piece, done in Prismacolor on Brown MiTientes 9x12. Photo by permission. Here is his story as told by his mom, Marilyn.
"Hi Susan
I originally got a gordon setter puppy for my daughter from the pound 25 years ago. I fell in love with the breed. I found a breeder in the Reno area and bought Cody. His name was Cheerio at the time. He was 8 weeks old. He was born on exactly my birthday in May. I got him as an anniversary present. We had 40 acres. He was my protector. I got divorced and my ex wanted the toyhauler I wanted Cody and Jelly (she passed away 3 years ago) also a gordon setter. Jelly had a heart condition. The breeder in Oregon was going to drown her at birth. So I traded the toyhauler for my dogs and left him with one dog. I moved out to Florida with them to help with family. Cody was there for me thru tough times. My dad died five months after getting to Florida.
He was such a sensitive, caring, gentle and loving soul. He knew when you were down. Funny how they can pick up on that. I am looking for another gordon from a shelter. So far no such luck.
Thank you for taking the time and doing this. You have a beautiful talent.
Love Marilyn"
